We are developed in the valleys and celebrated on the Mountains

“Success is not a destination, it’s a journey. The journey is where you find the most reward, where you develop the most strength, and where you learn the most about yourself.” – Zig Ziglar.

The two quotes above share the same essence with the topic of our contemplation today.

The phrase “We are developed in the valleys and celebrated on the mountains” is a poetic expression that suggests the idea that success and achievement are often the results of a difficult journey that requires hard work, perseverance, and dedication.

Valleys are low-lying areas between mountains or hills. In this context, they represent the challenges and struggles that people face in their pursuit of success. The development that takes place in the valleys refers to the process of personal growth, skill-building, and learning that occurs as individuals face and overcome obstacles.

Mountains, on the other hand, are often associated with greatness and achievement. They are visible from a distance and are often used as landmarks for navigation. In this context, the mountains represent the recognition and celebration that come with success. This could be in the form of accolades, awards, promotions, or other forms of public recognition.

Therefore, the phrase “We are developed in the valleys and celebrated on the mountains” suggests that success is not achieved overnight. It requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Many of us look at people who are already accomplished as blessed, unknown to us, they are not blessed because they are accomplished, it is because they were blessed when in their valleys that they become accomplished. According to Jesus (in the sermon on the mount), it is when you are mourning, when you have lost someone dear to you when you are at the end of your rope, when you are hungry and thirsty that you are blessed!

If you are in a low season and are wondering when it will all be over, be assured that right there in the midst of the unspeakable things happening to you and the inexpressible emotions locked in within you is where you are blessed. It, however, will show soon when you are transported by those blessings to the mountaintop, don’t lose hope. Don’t stop believing.
