The Intern Show – Coincidence?

I’ve been trying as best as I can to follow the intern show. Just day before yesterday, the participants where reduced to the last 3. Two guys and a lady. Somehow I knew the final would feature these three. I had also written the topic of this post for over 4 days now, but have not been able to write it because I had other topics that took priority to this one. In fact, right now, I’m going against my normal preplanned sequence. Why? I got a call tonight from one of the interns asking for my help.

I had been watching carefully to see if my coincidence hunch would come through, it did. 2 of the last participants are actually my hommies. Some years back the two guys and myself belonged to the Student Christian Movement in Obafemi Awolowo University. Afolabi and I were in the same drama subgroup, while Ayo and I went way back to primary school. While I cannot tell about the fine details of the lives of these two participants now, I believe they have done well so far, and would have probably learnt a lot to push them forward in line with their dreams. Around 4pm today, I got a call from Ayo, he had gotten a brief for the last task, and he needs as many of us as can help him be the Intern. It’s a simple task, and I’ll need you to help him… why? Because he asked for it.

We really do not have much time for this, all we have to do has to be done within the next 2 days. It’s a win for him, we’ll need to make it a win for us. Our friends in diaspora might also not be able to participate in this one, but at least you can show some love. The assignment they have is to sell the energy drink -burn. It’s a new drink and it’s nonalcoholic. A pack of Burn costs N4000, and the winner is the person who is able to sell the most.

Where you come is buying, you can buy as many packs as you want and save it up for a party, or to drink. It’s an energy drink, and like coffee you can drink it when you really want to work at night and concentrate. It’s also an opportunity to help a friend win a brand new Nissan Tida. If you are interested, please indicate here quickly with your phone number and the number of packs you need, Ayo will personally contact you and drop it off for you in your office or wherever. It might also be good to add a little extra to take care of the transport costs.

So to all who know him, to all who have watched and think he deserves to win, and all who think they’ll enjoy watching their tv on Friday, Saturday and Sunday knowing that they made it happen, this is an opportunity to help a friend, tomorrow it might be your turn.

I’m doing this advertisement at no cost, just lending a helping hand. The elders say that it is with joined hands that we can lift a load unto our heads, and that when the brooms are bound together they cannot be easily broken. There is tremendous power in joining hands to help another, this can be a good lesson for all of us.

How I wish I can get to help Ayo personally and I think I will, I have always believed that, what you make happen for others God will make happen for you, and this holds true.

This is a difficult position. Though I’ld have loved to help Ayo but Ib’s not in the picture here at all. Ayo and Folabi, I was hoping it won’t come to the two of them having to face themselves. Well…

Its so sad that the most I can do is wish him good luck as I am outside the country at the moment. But as with the joining of hands to support a good cause, there is also power in the prayers of good men. I pray that God support him in becoming the intern and further to fulfill his God given purpose in life. God bless you………

A good idea for any of the three ‘interns’ is to target the distributors (as in, wholesalers) of drinks . . . individuals may not be of much help in such a case as this . . . Goodluck to them.

While i admire ayo’s ambition i also see it as his undoing, ayo would do anything to win even if it means trampling on someone else and i don’t think that is right left to me Afolabi is more balanced and am sure glad he won.
