Four Vital Lessons In Obtaining Divine Direction And Following It As You Lead Others

I ponder upon a fundamental inquiry: Does God exist? And if so, does He communicate with us? In my view, it is wiser to acknowledge that God speaks to those who pause and open themselves to His guidance. The nonbelievers and those who doubt His voice find themselves in the same category, that of the disbelievers who merely observe the faithful.

The initial lesson that resounds within me is that although God speaks, we must be attentive to His words. To hear God, we must create moments of quietude, communing with Him. It is acceptable to commence with personal desires. However, as we seek God’s will and spend meaningful time in His presence, our focus gradually shifts from self-centered pursuits to seeking His countenance. Like children who initially prioritize themselves, eventually maturing to serve and place the needs of others above their own, we too commence our journeys seeking self-fulfillment, only to realize that we were saved to serve.

The second lesson that strikes me is that listening to and conversing with God should be woven into our daily routine. Our habit of setting aside time to pray and seek God’s face should be so consistent that others cannot help but notice our sacred moments, where no distractions should penetrate. Jesus would rise early, before daybreak, and often retreat to the mountainside for prayer. Let us form the habit of seeking His countenance.

The third lesson – God’s guidance may transcend logical comprehension. At times, He leads us to the Red Sea, where no path is visible except for the miraculous parting of the waters. He guides us to the Jordan, where our faith is tested before the rivers yield. God specializes in the impossible; nothing lies beyond His capability.

My fourth and final lesson today is the urgent need to become vessels God can employ. He desires to showcase His voice through us. He seeks individuals who rely on Him to demonstrate to the world that He is dependable. Through those willing to obey Him, He accomplishes the extraordinary. He aspires to shape leaders who are led by Him and fearlessly guide others.

Before advancing further in your endeavors, reflect upon the word that ignited your passion for your current path. Allow that word to instill confidence in approaching God whenever circumstances veer from the promised outcome. Obstacles and distractions await, ready to align with you once they witness God’s presence within you. Seize the opportunity to become a leader, attentively heeding God’s divine revelations and responding accordingly.
