david and Goliath.

40 – a number known to be symbolic for a period of trial, probation or chastisement! 40 days and 40 nights, was the number of days it rained in Noah days to destroy the earth, it was the number of days Moses used in the wilderness with God to get the commandments, still the number of days He pleaded with God on their behalf. It’s the number of years the Israelites were punished in the wilderness for not believing God, it’s the number of days Jesus fasted and prayed, it’s also the number of days between his resurrection and ascension. It may not take 40 days for you, but if you are going through any challenging times, trials or tribulations, be assured that it is not forever! Be assured that if you pass the test, you will get the Prize!

The settings is clearly of war. An approximately 10ft tall man, stands in front of an Army of an opposing camp, and threatens and challenges them for 40 days and 40 nights. “Send me a man” he says, who can fight with me, and let the fight between myself and your champion determine the faith of both our countries. If I lose, we serve you, if you lose, you serve us. This was a riddle the entirety of Israel and whole army of Saul could not solve. They could not solve it for one crucial reason! They saw themselves, they looked at their individual capabilities. Like the saying goes, “if you are all wrapped up in yourself, you make a pretty small package” . Israel could not see God, and God does not show up, where there is no representative!

To experience the miraculous, you must follow the likes of David. Who step into the regular fears and anxieties of the normal man, and straight away, sees an opportunity to be a platform for God! As the questions you ask, reveal your paradigm, David asks – Who is this uncircumcised philistine defying the armies of the living God? Gbam!

Watch this year carefully, make sure that when men are seeing men, you are seeing God. When they are relying on self, you are providing a platform for God. If you can fight your battles, God will watch, but if you let Go and let God, miracles will happen. This is not only for spiritual battles, it’s for all battles. Struggling in business? With your academics? With your industry? Don’t abandon ship and say God will fight His battles, stand in battle formation, and let God use you! To be continued..

Gbam!, you have said it all. I am going to provide God a platform all through this year to prove that impossibilities can be made possible. Thanks for sharing

If we have a distorted picture of the christian life, it means we have allowed the world to develop the film.
Face the year with God, all along and in all your ways. Fear not, for He is Almighty.
