For NNC members who check my site frequently, the following mail has been sent to your box, I’m just using this opportunity to keep you informed about what we have done till date. It’s been hectic, it’s been fun, it’s been work but it’s been exciting. For documentation purposes and for the sakes of those who are not members of the club, you can get the update here.
Hello Compatriot,
How are you? It’s been quite an indecent while that I have personally mailed you.
This is to keep you updated about all that we have been doing, and to ask you to be a part of what we are doing, when and if you are opportuned. Some of the people that will also get this mail are people who are up to date because they have been a part of it all.
I’ll also want to use this mail to invite you for our weekly public meeting. We have been holding it 2pm every Sunday except the last at the Memorable Gatherings, Opposite Tisco Plaza, Daily Times Bus-Stop Agidingbi. We had to move from a 250 venue to a 1500 venue because of population explosion. You are cordially invited for this weeks edition
Reorientation
One of the things we set out to do is to help in the reorientation of Nigerians to believe in a better Nigeria and to live value based lives. We have been able to carry reorientation to a number of Universities in Nigeria. This includes, OSU, IMSU, ABSU, and Unilorin (Friday). We’ll be going to Uniport, and some Northern Universities shortly. From member projects, a lot of work has also gone on in reorientation for the youths in Ajegunle. There was also a member sponsored Yahoo-Yahoo boys seminar – Making Legitimate money with street skills.
Nation Building
Rather than just have weekly meetings where we talk about NNC alone, we decided to have value adding meetings that can empower Nigerians to be New Nigerians. We kick started this initiative with a Financial Empowerment Seminar Series, and people have been coming back for more. This week we’ll be having a seminar on trading global stocks and local stocks. We will also be sharing a number of Investment and Job opportunities that are currently available to New Nigeria Club members. The New Nigeria City has also gotten new developments that will be fully shared in the meeting.
Sponsorship
The New Nigeria Club was able to sponsor an athlete to the World Indoors. She was able to do us proud and beat our national world indoors record before sustaining and injury. She is back in the country now.
Media
If you have been watching the news, you would have seen quite some mention on New Nigeria. This is an area with limitless opportunities and we are looking at more involvement from Club members to tip (Blow IT TO bigger proportions) this aspect. We have been having some partnership with a very media active group called 9ja Royal Republic, and we are in the process of setting up media online to better reach the public. We have also been active in sponsoring events that have anything to do with a New Nigeria.
Charity
We have done quite some work in this regard as well. We have helped stranded patients in hospitals, built facilities for Modupe Cole ( A playing ground and a show room), we have given gifts – ranging from computers, freezers, water dispensers, matresses to water pump e.t.c. to Modupe Cole, Remand Home, Hearts of Gold, Little Saints Orphanage to mention a few. Some of our members have also been able to render community service in some of these homes. We are still actively involved in Charity, and your involvement will make us do more faster.
Made in Nigeria
We have supported a few Made in Nigeria initiatives. We have a lot of opportunities in this area, but with the support of our members nothing is impossible. We have partnered with a few companies that make things indigineously and are positioning for a win-win opportunity for them and the members of the New Nigeria Club. Under the Made in Nigeria initiative, NNC members are soon going to be co-owning some fully Nigerian companies that we intend to push regional and ultimately global. Some of this are in the pipleline already.
Shadow Government/ Private Sector.
We have been able to comment on some national issues on TV and Radio, but have not done as much or enough in the Newspapers. We have also not done enough online. The concept is to form a pressure group that keeps our leaders and leading companies in check.
Awards and Recognition
We have had a member sponsored project in this category as well. One of our members decided to visit one of the Unity schools, give awards to the best students academically, leadership wise and in sports. He then went on with other NNC members to give the best students a befitting recognition, chattering brand new cars to chauffeur them round the school before taking them out for cocktail and dinner at the most exclusive and exquisite hotel in the city. New Nigeria Club left the students of the school desiring to be the best and to be NNC members.
Opportunities for Members.
As regards opportunities for members, please check the deals page, we have uploaded more than 20 new opportunities. Some of our members in Abuja have also worked hard to get us a number of opportunities and deals in Abuja, in fact it’s awesome. Our members in Portharcourt are also trying, same with our members in Warri. There is an event to launch NNC in Warri on the 19th of April, if you are in Warri, please link up with the Team in Warri.
You can also look forward to some private placements that will be exclusive to New Nigeria Club members.
I encourage you to be PATRIOTIC Still, the best days are here!
Kind Regards
Adeolu Akinyemi
