Once upon a time, in a far-off kingdom, there was a beautiful princess named Nina. Nina was the most kind-hearted and compassionate princess in all the land, but she had one tragic flaw: she was cursed to die young.
The curse was placed upon her by an evil sorcerer who was jealous of her beauty and goodness. The sorcerer had warned that Nina would die on her 21st birthday, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.
As her 21st birthday approached, the kingdom was thrown into chaos. The people were in mourning, and the king and queen were beside themselves with grief. But Nina refused to give up hope. She had always believed that there was a way to break the curse, and she was determined to find it.
One day, Nina heard of a wise old sage who lived in a cave deep in the mountains. She set out on a journey to find him, accompanied only by her loyal friend and protector, a brave warrior named Buba.
After many days of traveling, they finally reached the sage’s cave. The sage listened to Nina’s story and told her that the only way to break the curse was to journey to the bottom of the ocean and retrieve a rare pearl that had the power to heal any wound.
Nina and Buba set out on their journey, and they encountered many dangers along the way. They battled sea monsters and braved treacherous storms, but they never gave up. Finally, they reached the bottom of the ocean and found the pearl.
When they returned to the kingdom, the pearl was placed in Nina’s hand, and she was instantly healed. The curse was broken, and she lived happily ever after.
What lessons stand out for you? Here are a few of mine, let’s see if you can find others.
1. Never give up, never lose hope. If the worst is that you will die, everything you do between now and when it becomes inevitable is valuable. Do it!
2. Don’t waste what you have worrying about what you are told you won’t have. If you have only a few years to live, spend them on an adventure, not in mourning. Live the life you have, while hoping for the one you don’t.
3. Don’t be alone. As an African proverb says: “When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion.”. It means that when people work together, they can accomplish great things.
