May You Experience Joy, Peace, and Satisfaction
Something interesting caught my attention today as I studied this morning.
To have little and to experience joy, peace, and satisfaction with it is God’s blessings
To have plenty and have an appetite that is not satisfied without peace or joy is a curse
Comparison with others is futile because all you can gauge is what they have.
You can measure more or less, but you have no way of measuring how they feel
We pursue things only in the hope that we’ll get joy, peace, and satisfaction
We experience poverty and its frustrations, and automatically equate more with peace
We feel stressed based on our challenges and feel more will confer more joy
We grow up looking up to those who have a lot, and wishing we were so lucky
Yet, peace, joy, and satisfaction are exclusively God’s gifts.
He can give you plenty and he can give you little
If you ever need to write the equation though, little with God’s blessings are greater than more without
The most tangible blessing we have is how God makes us feel about what we have
No wonder, godliness with contentment is great gain.
Don’t pray merely to have material things… pray to be satisfied
Don’t pray simply to have a job… pray to have something to show for your labor
Don’t pray simply for what you think is the channel, pay for the desired end.
Have a Spectacular September
