“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
The past few weeks have been really hectic for me, I have been able to continue writing at a huge price – I have to! It’s also been exciting though, I have been doing the things that I love, and loving the things that I do. I believe if we all dare to pursue our unique purpose, our actions, mere as they might seem, have the capacity to liberate others. In this post, I’ll try and detail the key things that have grabbed my attention and time in the last few weeks.
Team Building – MTN Team.
On the 15th and 16th of June, we (Generis Solutions) had a Team Building session at Lekki Peninsular Resort with one of the most interesting Teams I have had the joy of facilitating Team Effectiveness with. In those two days we all (facilitators and participants) had a fantastic time. The two days session involved some team effectiveness theory, a lot of games, a party straddling Saturday morning, and lots of opportunities for the team to bond better. It’s good to make money doing what you love, trust me. We also got quite some referrals based on the excellence delivered. If you have a team you want to work better… guess you know who to call 🙂
Retire Young Retire Rich
On Sunday, the 17th of June I was invited to be guest speaker in Sheraton, at a “Retire Young Retire Rich” Seminar. The program was well organized and well attended, and it was very exciting when I stepped on the stage introduced my topic and the crowd sprang to life. I’m excited about the possibilities of helping people take advantage of the opportunities around them to improve their lives. As Long as I’m acting in line with my purpose, I’m sure God’s got my back. I understand there is another such program planned by the same company (infoserve) 15th of July, you can get in touch with 08055921005- Ify.
Mentorship Session
On the same Sunday, 17th June, I rushed away quickly from Sheraton to attend a Mentorship Session we had planned. It’s a monthly meeting we (Gbenga Sesan and Myself) normally hold with young aspiring leaders. We hold the meeting to sensitize people about the value of relationships and mentorship and we talk about specific themes that we believe people will find useful. The theme for the one we did on the 17th was Taking Position, it was awesome. We also host a guest speaker every month. This month’s Guest Speaker and Mentor was Femi Banigbe, the young and enigmatic director of Celtel’s Vee Networks. It was a great event for me as well, I was stunned by the similarities in our desires, ages and willingness to give back. We all left this meeting, willing to do more of this. The next one holds on the 22nd of July, it sits a limited audience, so book ahead. You can contact 08057109512 – Tola.
Discovering Your Talents,Passions and Getting your Dream Job
Friday 22nd of June, I and a colleague at work took a charter to Ilorin to speak with University of Ilorin Final Year Students. Somehow, going to Unilorin for me has become a yearly event, and this years event was by far the most organized. The hall sat over 400 eager students, and their eagerness did not wane as they rose to a resounding clap and standing ovation when I let go of the Mic after 10pm on Friday night. I’m glad I made it down there at all costs, it will be a pleasure to meet these ones 5yrs from now, and be thrilled by what they are doing with their lives. The world needs more of us, not clones… diverse but equally passionate!
Extreme Makeover -Mini Edition
This is a God sent idea that is being currently made real. We are currently gathering stories of people we can help, and voting should commence this week. I’m sure it will start slowly, but we’ll surely see it to it’s heights. This is one thing I’m willing to stop everything else at the expense of. We can really take this far, and I’m driven to. The Interswitch link currently sitting on the site will make it easy for payments to be made from anywhere (locally at first), I’m working on something easy for our foreign partners.
I’m work in progress, but I’m learning fast. I’m learning fast to follow my passions and remain in tune with the almighty for direction. I remember telling the Ilorin Final year students, if your passion clashes with your course of study, follow your passions. If I can replicate my passion in just 100 other young people out there…we’ll rock the world. Set your souls on fire, step up your game, the most powerful weapon against the depletion of our lives, communities and country are souls on fire.
“When you set yourself on fire, people love to come and see you burn.” — John Wesley Evangelist (eighteenth century)

@Chairman,
Now i know why you have been unreachable lately but above all am very glad you are following your passion and most importantly reaching out and touching souls. Like I use to say, you may never know the number of lives you have been able to touch because most of them are those you might never see or meet but some where some how you have touched their lives as a result of your wrte up, your talk and et al.
Just keep it up, the lord will contineto strenghten you and enrich you the more for this generation. And please watch out, coz some of us are joining you at the TOP!!!

@Deolu,
I need to ask for a detailed schedule of these programs- if they are open to the public like us- and the modalities for participation. Obviously I have been missing a lot.
Particularly the Mentorship sessions of July 22nd.
Extreme Makeover- where’s the website? The Generis site has been blank for some time now. Or is there another site?
I want to be like you when I grow up!
