This was the title of my first book. I wrote this 13yrs ago now, I found it quite exciting looking at the back cover of the book, and seeing a picture of myself at 25kg less than my current weight. I have grown in stature over the last 13 years, and like Jesus grew, I have also grown in wisdom and in favour with God and with man.
The book back then had quite some useful points on how to get your dream job. It had guidelines for developing your CV, guidelines for interviews e.t.c. I was a Recruiting and Training Manager for a multinational company back then, so many of the lessons shared were quite practical as well. Today, what I want to share with you is a sure fire, 1 solution option for getting your dream job. It’s so simple and straight to the point, that if you are not careful you would not pay enough attention to it! It’s classical ancient wisdom, and it has worked for all who dared to use it. Remember, don’t underestimate the value of what you are about to read. Imagine that it cost you $5,000 to get the information you are about to get, and let it characterise your life. If you don’t get your dream job, then find me and get a refund.
The surest and fastest way to ensure you get your dream job, is to forget about the dream, and make the most of whatever life throws at you. Castles are usually seen in the air, but the only way they get into the air is because someone put a foundation on the ground. Dreams are baseless if you don’t diligently put a base under them. Don’t be too caught up in the dream of the possible future, that you miss the opportunities available in the present.
Our primary duty is not to dream of what the future holds, but to do what the present provides us. The eyes of the fool are at the ends of the earth, but a wise person makes use of knowledge nearby. Don’t gaze too intently abroad, that you waste the broad ways that God is opening before you. Put your energies on where your hands can touch, and watch your dreams come to you. Don’t say you don’t have a job, find something, anything of value to do, do it well and do it for free until you can do it and get paid.
There are no mistakes in the master plan. If life throws you a lemon, learn to make lemonade. The connecting point between you and your dream is not lazy dreaming, it’s active working!
