Them no fit kill my vibe 🎶
We all get these bad negative vibes from people we love and even from ourselves. You want to start a new business, and everyone seems pretty clear on why it’s bound to fail, or how it’s such a risk. I guess this is why many times visionaries are perceived as stubborn, they seem stuck on an idea in their heads that others around them can’t seem to figure out.
So yes, someone has told you that you can’t possibly make it… you can respect them and quit, or you can realize that you have 2 choices.
Agree with them or prove them wrong!
Proving critics wrong is amazing rocket fuel for blasting off. Now success doesn’t just depend on your drive anymore, you have fresh fuel to push forward, but you need to take this raw material and convert it into useful fuel.
Here is how!
Get angry! Yes, be angry but don’t sin!
Anger is one of the strongest emotions we feel, and it provides us with motivation, power, push, and drive.
Amplify their criticism and commit to showing them it can be done. Don’t silently walk away and say in your mind “I will show them”, no! Tell the person. Crystallize that conversation into a challenge, draw the line. Put a timeline to it and let them know you are taking their position as a challenge and you will like to review with them in 12 months. If you are not that confrontational, write it down in your journal or record a video and set yourself a challenge. Get at least one other person involved.
This will make you more deliberate and more committed. If people’s negative energy doesn’t touch your emotions and turn into a challenge, you have nothing to work with.
Don’t ignore naysayers, don’t become emotionally cold. Channel the energy.
