One and a half years ago, I had an interesting conversation with a friend, I was in the UK, recruiting Nigerians for a multinational company here in Nigeria, and we chatted online. She sent me some excerpts of the chat today. She sent it to me with the title Dreams, she said she was shocked that I was already writing the scripts. You too can make your dreams come true, you can become lucky. Set you goals, the winds will work to favour you when your sails are set. I was excited when I read what you are about to read after just 1.5yrs…how time flies. I have posted all of it, with her consent.

uchemabi: ok.. ok..
deoluakinyemi: how come i feel you doubt that was what I did??;;)
uchemabi: i thot u had a good opportunity and u took it
deoluakinyemi: NAAA…I wanted an experience in HR..to see if it connected with what I thought…and I knew it would also be a learning opportunity
uchemabi: mmmmm
deoluakinyemi: The pay is not half as much as i would have been collecting from other means….but i knew that the pay was just ahead at the right time
uchemabi: did u always want an experience in HR or u decided u wanted it when u got the opportunity?
deoluakinyemi: in my final year elect CD..I was asked…what do you see yourself as in the next 5yrs
uchemabi: and…?
deoluakinyemi: My answer??…I will be using nothing that this department has taught me..I will be invloved in things that have to do with training, people development and HR
deoluakinyemi: dig??
uchemabi: ok… ok.. dat’s kool
uchemabi: so now, where do u see urself in 5 years?
deoluakinyemi: common, i won’t ask you to do what I don’t believe in….learn..inevitably you’ll earn
deoluakinyemi: hahahah
deoluakinyemi: 5yrs from now i see myself as a people development voice in Africa..i see myself as an industry leader in people development systems
deoluakinyemi: I see myself owning my own organization, consulting for big companies and helping the nameless graduate of national/international schools get their bearings
deoluakinyemi: are you saving that??
uchemabi: ok i will
How to become lucky.
