Greed for wealth and lust for honor beckon him. How marvelous it would be to be rich and powerful—as well as having the prophetic powers that already are his. The gospel of Christ and then a little more! A subtle perversion of the Gospel of Christ! (Gal 1:6-9 – Let those who push them be cursed!)
You are a servant to whatever you want! We are pulled in the direction of our wants, desires and lusts. The moment our quest is for more than Christ, we have new gods, new leaders, new masters.
Are there new masters who show up in our church meetings? Are we practicing polytheism in the temple like Manasseh the son of Hezekiah led Judah into? Don’t take my word for it. Ask yourself this simple question – Based on last Sunday’s message, what do I want? Answer it truthfully, and join me in praying and sharing.
May God have mercy on our generation. May God preserve us himself, and teach us, that the silence of a witness is injustice.
