I made an interesting discovery in scriptures.
When people say the fruit that Jesus is asking for is the fruit of Character, what is known as the fruit of the spirit, rather than the fruit of other believers of disciples.
In the battle between either or, I realized it’s both!
There is no fruits of the spirit, it’s fruit of the spirit. The fruit of the spirit is Love! That love manifests in different as the other character traits. 1 Corinthians 13 completely parallels Galatians 5:22-23. The Fruit is Love!
But if you love what will you do? Jesus declared, if you love me, you will obey my commandments! What is his commandment? “Love one another as I loved you”. You can’t claim to love your brother, and not be bothered about their eternity. Love compels us to bear fruit, the fruit of other believers.
Hence the fruit is one and the same thing. Call it love, call it discipleship. It’s a ring, a loop that keeps turning. Love me, obey my commandments, what are my commandments, love!
If you want to get it clearly, look at it like someone who just got a Job in a company! Which is important, to perform by making sales, or to behave like the MD? The answer is get sales, but how do you get the sales, do it like the MD. The fruit is the channel for having fruit. It’s fruit and fruit. Also I’ll not like you to miss Matthew 25: 14 -31 – Parable of Talents… it’s much deeper than we can analyze it in this forum… let me give you a quick summary.
