Jesus denied some people in his lifetime, and he promised to deny some others on that day! These are not unbelievers, unbelievers in Jesus are already denied. These are people who will be shocked at Jesus’ denial. You however don’t need to be shocked, you can know right now, and this morning.
1. Past: Jesus denied his family members in Mark 3:35 Jesus said true family membership is about “Doing God’s will”. If you are not doing it, you are denied.
2. Future: Jesus promises to deny – Pastors who preached, but didn’t do the father’s will, who worked miracles and casted out demons, but didn’t do the father’s will, who did fantastic building projects, but didn’t do the father’s will. If you are not doing the father’s will, you will be denied. (Matt 7:21-24)
What is the father’s will? If you don’t know it, you have already been denied, it’s not likely you are doing what you don’t know. It doesn’t matter how long you have been saved, if you don’t know and do God’s will, you are doing your own thing.
In order to be extremely simplistic, God’s will is for Christ to fill the earth, and doing that will is possible by Discipleship! Who have you discipled? Who are they discipling? Don’t fool yourself, your congregation may be 50,000 and there is no real disciple of Jesus there. It is better to know that Jesus does not know you today, than to be shocked by that reality in that day.
