“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. – Luke 21:34-35
- Is your heart weighed down? There are 3 things that weigh the heart down – activities, pride and wants – cares of this life. There is comfort that the world does not know, when all you crave is to be more like Christ! The reason why the bible is boring for most, is because the love of the world and the worlds ways, chokes the love for things of God. Evaluate yourself, is God’s word truly your delight?
- Are you among those who the Day of the Lord will meet unexpectedly? If you are not prepared for it, you should be worried. The Day of the Lord is a great and terrible day! A great day for some, a terrible day for others. The quality of the message you are being fed, will either prepare you for the Day or make you ensnared on the day. You don’t need self help, you need God’s help.
- Where do you dwell? On earth? Then you are deceived already! All those whose eyes and aspirations have an earthly anchor are earth dwellers. They will be ensnared. Are you driven to God for the things you can achieve on this earth? What portion of your day is occupied by God? How much treasure do you have in heaven? Do you know how to lay treasures in Heaven? All who dwell on earth will be deceived.
- What is a snare? A snare is a trap. It is on the normal path of the animal to be trapped, it has the normal food that the animal wants, the trap is careful concealed. The animal enters without knowing – it is deceived. What will be a snare for all that dwell on the earth? The same type of things they want, in the same place where they pass through to get their wants, and carefully concealed so that they don’t know there is a snare under the food. Do you have ears? Hear!
Many people are being prepared to be slaughtered by humanistic gospels. Like in the days of Jeremiah, where a young boy of 17 preaches God’s mind for 40 years without Judgement, our generation will not say they are without warning.
