1. Getting what you want is not as good as getting what God plans for you. Our lives’ true measure is not what we have even if it’s a lot.
2. Peace and Joy are outcomes that may not require what you thought was a prerequisite. Many broke people lack peace, many wealthy people lack peace. If you are rich and lack peace it’s more frustrating.
3. Today is yesteryear’s harvest. Do you like it? Do you plan to be alive in 10 years? What are you doing today about tomorrow’s harvest?
4. Stop praying for strength if you don’t want challenges, stop praying for wisdom if you don’t want to face problems, and stop praying for grace if you don’t want to labor. Don’t ask God to use you if you don’t want to serve others. Most of the tough things we face are answers to the prayers we are praying.
5. God gets daily reports on how we are fairing and what we are producing. He has expectations from our lives. He is not counting how much you have been lavished with, he is counting what you are producing in line with his expectations. Is God making profit on you?
6. A simple rule for measuring future value. Fast harvest is little harvest, long harvest is a long-lasting harvest. If your results show quickly they will fade as quickly. If it takes time to mature, you will enjoy it for long. Have a long-range plan, plan some beans, but also plant cocoa. I am not talking literally oo… do what will take time to show.
