I think I can logically lay claim to this phrase – “You are too much!” It’s a phrase I use on my wife often when trying to compliment her for something she did that blew my mind, which is often. She smiles and shrugs as if to say, “are you sure?”.
Today I learnt that you are indeed too much! Not just my wife – you, even you!
The limitations you have are self impossed, you are capable of much more than you have ever dared. You have potentials you can’t imagine! I’m not psyching you, you were made in the nature of a divine and limitlessly intelligent being. You are too much!
Can you imagine the following facts about your physical perception?
“Our natural senses give us perceptual sensitivity that is incredible. Biologically, if your physical senses are working normally, you can:
* See a burning candle from 28 miles away if you are dark-adapted
* Feel on your fingertips a pressure that depresses your skin .00004 inch
* Smell one drop of perfume diffused through a three room apartment
* Taste .04 ounce of table salt dissolved in 530 quarts of water
* Feel the weight of a bee’s wing falling on your cheek from less than half an inch away
* Distinguish among more than 300,000 different colors
* Gauge the direction of a sound’s origin based on a .00003-second difference in its arrival from one ear to another
Thus, we have the sensitivity to be extremely perceptive. But we typically block our sensitivity and it goes unrealized and underutilized, just like most of our other capabilities and potential.”
The things that limit you are a function of your thoughts, your thoughts a function of the things you have allowed yourself to see, smell, feel, and effectively think – these form your assumptions. What limits you most are your assumptions. If you can imagine your physical biological capabilities, you don’t even want to try what your mind is capable of, how much more your spirit.
Let me give you an example of how you assumptions can limit you. Your mind ceases to loose sleep over a question whose answers you know! Imagine that you wanted to know the answer to a question, there are times when you literally dream about it, you stretch you turn, your mind gives you no rest until your eureka moment, when it all comes to you and you almost want to shout. Everything in you stays awake and works until you settle the challenge. What do you think happens when you think you know the answer? Nothing! That’s what happens, nothing.
You are too much, don’t limit yourself! Your being small won’t serve the world, quit assuming this is all you can be. What lies behind you and what lies ahead of you are small things compared to what exists withing you. Raise your head, stride like a king, exhume confidence, you are too much!
