You are on my mind

I’m currently away from Lagos, I have been for the past 3 days. I’m in Ilorin, speaking at the international convention of Rhemma Chapel International for 5 days. It’s a great opportunity for me to be a blessing to about 5000 people in the town where I grew up, it’s also an opportunity to minister side by side a man that I love and respect – Rev George Adegboye (the living and walking Bible and concordance). It’s also been an opportunity to see Fela Durotoye Preach in a church environment, and most importantly a time to spend some time with my parents. It’s however been difficult for me to access the internet as regularly as I want to. I have been itching to connect, and to express, but even now, what I have is little time. What I like you to know, is that you are on my mind, and I’m missing you, all of you.

My mandate here in Ilorin is to bring financial empowerement and enlightenment to Ilorin. I have a God given assignment to raise kingdom financiers, people who will be so rich and so blessed, that the work of God will always be supported anywhere they are. In case you are wondering what the work of God is, it’s simple – the work of God is salvation for the lost, comfort for the broken hearted, good news to the poor, release for prisoners, e.t.c.

Here are a few thoughts hitting my mind at the moment

1. There is no change in status without change in thinking. We are not capable of reaching in our life what we cannot reach in our thoughts. The first frontier where the battle for our future is won or lost, is in our thinking. The difference between successful people and failures is how they respond to opportunities, and this is a function of how they think. A man is his thoughts. A poor man is one with poor thoughts, a rich man is one with rich thoughts. The greatest empowerment is not a deposit of millions of dollars it’s the use of knowledge in shifting a thinking pattern.

2. No matter the amount of abundance that lies around, none of it will be yours if there is no desire. Desire is possibility seeking expression, it’s functionality seeking performance. Desire is an ingredient in faithy, it’s a peep into what can be done. Desire is the antenna that makes a man tap into the channels of good news. There is no achievement without desire. The quality of your desire determines the quality of what you’ll attract. Desire is the starting place of all development. When the eyes of God searches the earth, he’s looking at the heart that are perfect towards him. God makes himself strong on behalf of those who desire his strenght. If you want to be wealthy you must desire to be.

3. You will not rise beyond where your character can keep you. Character is a valueable capital for business. What you allow to grow as a defect in secret, will strip you of your prize in public. Character is like the human spinal cord, you can’t stand errect and walk without it. Fraudulence and lies can serve as props and walking sticks, but are not useful for building a sustainable legacy. Integrity, Trustworthiness, Candor, Timeliness, e.t.c may sound like mere words, but they are the foundations for any sustainable life or enterprise.

4. All teaching about financial empowerement that does not lead to action, is mere puffing up with knowledge. Thought must transend thought to bring value. Though the creation of new life forms starts with thoughts, the manifestation requires action. It requires a quality of action. No matter how much you know, and what philosophy you hold, if it does not lead you to take actual steps, it cannot save.

… my time here is up… the conference is morning, afternoon and night, I have to run now… I’ll see you again soon.

As I’m reading this, I’m getting goose pimples all over.

I think this is what I get everytime I hear the about empowering people back in Ilorin. I grew up in Ilorin too and spent 26 of my years there. I happen also to run an empowerment program for youths in an area in Ilorin, so u can understand why my mind is racing like mad, and why I’m looking for the kind of technology that will transport me to ICC from 5000km away…

Well, I’m so happy Ilorin is been given this opportunity again from the likes of you. God bless you.

    Thanks Deolu.
The present recession happening in the world is our opportunity.
we also need to position ourselves rightly to receive what God has in store for us.
our positioning before men will also make a difference.

Well done Deolu. The character aspect of your piece is the one I admire most. The importance of a good character cannot be overemphasized. Our success in life depends on our reputation.People with unblemished character are in deficit, but in great demand, even fradulent people still want people with character to manage their business for them.

Wow, this is indeed a nice post!
“A man is his thought”, great phrase.
Yea, you are who you think you are. Everything starts
    from thoughts.

Everything that you see around you was once an idea
in someone else mind. The computer that you are
using, the monitor you are looking at, the mouse you
are using… all of them were once an idea in someone
else’s mind. Just that they manifest them into reality.

Our thinking is our most powerful tool that we can
leverage on. Change our thinking before we change
ourselves. For things to change, we must first
    change.

    Thanks for this great sharing,
    Shawn

    Spot Deolu!
spoke my mind on a number of things.
until there is a change within there can’t be any change without.
I call desire the first principle (or law) of success. it is the fuel that powers of our dreams.

character is the pillars of lasting success. show me a celebrity that lacks character and i will show a man whose success has brought him as much shame as it has brought him fame. “WHAT BROUGHT MEN DOWN FROM GRACE TO GRASS ACTUALLY GREW WITH THEM FROM GRASS TO GRACE BUT WAS LEFT UNCHECKED” Adeolu. Remember that quote of yours in the post BUT?
they decision determines destiny but let me add that ACTION actualises it. someone once said that the essence of knwoledge is action and not just information.

May you find all it takes to fulfil that God given assignment in Jesus name.

    Luv U!

A speaker will either cheat or teach. Thank God because you are a great teacher. God bless you.

Poverty or properity is dependent on how we configure our mind because If we are mentally rich, we can’t be physically poor.

i found myself writing almost all i read in this article. bros D, you are just too much. it is important we know just as you have said that thought must trabsend thoughts to produl\ce value. value is in who you are, what you are worth and most importantly what you can give back to society. financial information is very good but it is better when one can convert all the knowqledge to money. thank you for this piece. it is loaded.

…every man is a product of his thought. our thoughts influences our decisions, it forms our actions and gradually our attitude and then our personality. someone once suggest that God should amplified our thoughts for the world to see… we’ll so disappointed in what passes through head per time. We need to watch our thoughts… guard you hearts with diligence… it indicate that we need to take conscious and spirited effort to restrain our thoughts.
We need to also desire…..God grant desires.
