Tapping Into The Principles Of The Farm

One of the oldest principles of the farm is the dynamics of sowing and reaping. This farm principle works in every geographical space on the earth and in every city, state, or country. Interestingly this principle transcends the farm and plays itself out in commerce and in life generally.

A farmer sows seeds, carefully placing them in a hole and covering them up. The farmer waits, sometimes actively and sometimes passively, after a few days, weeks, months, or years, depending on the gestation period of the seed, it’s time for harvest. Harvest comes with a fruit or a package that looks different from the seed but contains the seed. This principle and the structure of its expression are deep.

In this principle, there is a distinction between seed time and harvest time, between seed volume and harvest volume, and between seed activity and harvest activity. There is however a connection between the seed and the harvest – The harvest carries within it a direct replica of the seed.

One of the areas I have found this principle to be so powerful is in how we treat people. Our acts of kindness, sacrifices, and patience with people ultimately bring forth a huge harvest. Let me quickly examine some of the elements in this sowing and reaping.

1. Do good to people who are early in their journeys. They may not look worth it, they are in seed form. Though their beginning is small, their later end will greatly increase.

2. Be patient with people, the distance between doing good to people and them becoming the harvest of it takes time. You will not wake up tomorrow to see changed lives.

3. Sowing is painful, and Reaping is delightful. Sometimes when we are engaging in seed time activities, we won’t enjoy it. Persevere

4. Ultimately, doing good to others is doing good to yourself because in the fruit of everyone’s final outcome lies more seed.

I hope you are able to decode these views. The summary is, invest heavily in being kind to people whether or not they look like they are worth it, in many years to come, your children or grandchildren may reap the benefits.
