At times when thinking about the challenges Nigeria presently faces, it looks like a catch-22 situation, where you wonder if it was the egg that came first or the chicken. You wonder at times if poverty is the problem, lack of information or corruption or something else.
Many people have however offered insight into solutions to the problems facing the country. Many people have spoken, those who have earned the right to speak and those who just speak anyway. You ask yourself why do people hide/steal away so much money? Is it because they have lived too long in abject poverty and they want to store up for the days ahead? Is it because they are corrupt and don’t see anything wrong with it? Or is it because they are lacking in the knowledge of how to make credible income, or are hidden from the fact that wealth gotten by sharp means will leave at quick speeds?
I remember having a long discussion with a 63+ French man, we were exploring the use of some scientific method to develop equations that will help solve the problem of Nigeria. Now you don’t want to go there, but it was an interesting exercise. We had to look at the parameters that were issues well, and ask ourselves, what causes what? Is it lack of information that causes poverty? Is it poverty that causes corruption? Or is it the other way round? If we are able to answer these questions well, then as a nation we will be able to develop a model and framework to move us into the Nigeria of our dreams. If we answer these questions correctly then we can all tackle the roots and be sure that this will take care of the stem and the leaves.
So what do you think? It’s high time we don’t just pass through here without our feet in the sand. WE all have ideas, credible ideas of what can make this nation great. Lets here your views, it’s not impossible to get the ear of our leaders. What one issue if tackled on a massive scale will bring us nearer to the Nigeria of our dreams? Pls write your thoughts here, lets debate it together.

Information? maybe…but from my assessment and personal view, one major problem or challenge that we face as a nation is the issue of MINDSET RE-ORIENTATION of NIGERIANS.
Considering the massive population hitting about 150 Million people now, a quick survey of people with the right mindset is less than 5% with 1/36 of these 5% scattered round the 36 states including Abuja and a major chunck too in Diaspora. A wise saying goes thus: we can take the horse to the river but we cannot force it to drink
Nigeria of our dreams starts when we as a people decided that YES, a change is needed, when there is a shift in our mindset, when our preoccupation is progressive and conscious development of our primary zone/domain.
Ask an average Nigerian, what will you do if you were the councellor of your community you will be amazed at the response of 9 out of 10. HEARTBREAKING!!!
If our orientation can change….a lot of things can be done, poverty is a type of state or mindset…because as a man thinketh in his heart so he is (Holy Bible). So this nation building starts from mind……………..lets share more thots

Interesting perspective Lanre, but don’t you think that mindset re-orientation is an aspect of information/education?
I think if people truely know better generally, we can start a spiral that will grind these present dimensions to a halt. Or what do you think?
You are very right to say that mindset re-orientation is as aspect of Information/Education…..mathematically, we can say that Mindset Re-orientation is a Subset of Information-Education Domain
So, I think the way forward is strategically releasing the info to impact the people so that their subconscious mind can comprehend the truth….
I am willing to join forces with you and many patriotic Nigerians on this exercise by offering a sub-domain of my website for this…..Nigeria is too GREAT to be left in the state she is now.

the problem of Nigerian isnt poverty sir. it is laziness and corrruption. when people are so corrupt, they dont see anything bad in wrongdoing bcause they feel they are trying to leave a legacy for their upcoming generations. i think the solution the problem in Nigeria is mass enpoerment, infomation and a visible system that works that they can lern from
