Marriage is a union of two independent people who are ready to journey into interdependence together, or a union of two interdependent people who have chosen each other as life partners. By design, marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman, between an Adam and an Eve. Not an Adam and Steve and definitely not a Madam and Eve.

Matters of finance usually are one universal reason why married couples disagree, quarrel or endanger their marriage. The truth is, the world is designed in such away that we need things – food, shelter, tools, books, e.t.c. In order to get things, money is a necessity and there is no way to avoid the topic of finance. Even the good book and the good Lord is happy with people exiting the earth if they would not work to earn to eat. Having a life has the prerequisite of having a livelihood. To gloss over the topic of money in marriage is to live in self deceit and denial.

This is a soft topic in marriage counseling, perhaps because the counselors themselves are not adequately armed with financial intelligence. Nobody can hold your hands to guide you to a future they don’t see.

In marriage, make up your mind from day one, that you are one team! You may have separate accounts, but you must keep a joint accounting. If your wife is a devil, you already made the mistake of marrying her. If your husband is evil, you are now one and the same! Don’t use your wife or husband’s weakness as an excuse for not working as a team. If the mode is competition, someone will win, and many other things will suffer. If you collaborate however, you’ll both achieve much more than trying to see who is superior. The competition battle is lifelong, and who is winning now, may not be who is winning later. It is better, neater and safer to work together towards a common goal. If 1 can chase 1000 and 2 chases 10,000. Then every time two people refuse to work together they lose the opportunity to get 5 times their combined results.

Are you burdened about your family finance? Attend the Dec 2 Financial Mentorship Session. This is the cheapest session we’ll ever do. If you want a coach, you can book for one as well. We have certified coaches for every budget class.

I just wondered if all were to be comply to different books it will take eternity to complete them.
Well, you are a gift to this generation and more wonderful is the fact that you are a believer. Your life is really a challenge and I intend to make a head way in life this year. You will read my story soon.
    God bless you.
