If you had an opportunity to choose one of these two characters to spend an evening with, and ask any questions, who will it be? and Why?

NB: Please note quickly though, that those were the most decent pictures of Beyonce’ that I could find online, some of the others?…whew!

I think this is a good way to start a weekend, an unprofessional weekend. Let’s get a feel of what really motivates the readers of this site. TGIF

Both. Ha ha! And for obvious reasons.

With the little I’ve discerned about you and your earlier post on the issue, I will pick Billy G. Going by what I write about on my blog, I will pick Billy G, again.

Honestly a lot depends on ones motive and orientation. However, one shouldn’t (and can’t) lose sight of the values Beyonce can bring into a discussion. Afterall, she is highly successful in what she does. She has talents, and that is what matters. If I can swing it, I will spend time with both!

Well I will say people have different choice though as some people may choose either one but for me its the great Bill Gates, a man that made something or rather a man that built an Empire out of nothing. he did not go through the great Walls of the University that we all strive to go to today to be who he is, but he is known all over the world, his legacy is one that will never pass, but believe me Beyonce will be forgotten by many as soon as her time is done trust me.

By all means and standard, I will rather have 5 minutes with William Gates than a night with Beyounce…why? you may ask?

Life is all about adding value or removing value from men (human being). The idea conceived years ago by Gates to solve a global challenge when a lot didnt even think about it inform my choice of choosing Gates…only God knows what he is cooking up now…

Hm…The truth of the matter is that if you dont know where you are going in life, you would not be able to make the right choice. Your destination will always determine your choice per day. Let’s think about this

Bill Gates of course! He’s got strong values and has a motivating success story that i can mirror and teach my children about. He’s daily reaching out to meet needs. HE’S RICH! That’s where i want to be!

What am I and Beyonce going to talk about? – her values, her music or what?

Hahaa…Imnakoya wants to spend time with both. Thats the typical I want to eat my cake, have it and be able to sell it paradigm.

I’ll stay with Bill gates ๐Ÿ™‚ What he gives has long term value. What Beyonce gives is short term. ๐Ÿ™‚

    In my opinion

i’ll happily spend an entire evening with Bill Gates.
however, judging from some of the comments already made concerning Miss Beyonce, i’d like to make the following comments.
i’ll also spend an entire evening with her (as long as Mr. Gates is unavailable!)
    why?
anything Beyonce is, or has, she worked for it.
lots of hours were, and are spent working out in the gym to get, and maintain her (shapely) figure. lots of hours were spent singing without recognition, when her peers were probably playing, dating, or sleeping, during which (i guess) she got her beautiful voice. lots of hours were, and are spent in dance rehearsals preparing for shows, music videos, etc, which, believe me, can be quite painful. and the list goes on and on.
many a time when we see a result, we sometimes forget that it has to have a cause – there is nothing like luck or chance in this world.
lets be frank, anything she is, or has, that lady worked damn hard for it.
how many people don’t know she started showbiz at a very young age with some friends which led to the pop/ r & b (?!) group known as destiny’s child? so at the age of 25, she’s a veteran!
i believe in recognising, and applauding, hardwork, determination, & persistence wherever i see it.
so i’ll spend an evening with her. who knows what i may just learn from her (her music videos and sense of fashion, notwithstanding)?

Well, I quite agree with osadebe, though I am not a big fan of beyonce, I really do not know why since she has all these talents: singing and acting and she is extremely good at what she does but I would rather spend an evening, entire day or lifetime with Bill Gates. A man that has all that money and is till as humble as you can find them is very rare but bill gates is such a man and I believe time spent with him is a time well spent. No offence Beyonce!

Well said osadebe obazeh,i very much like your response,as i said anyone can choose either one of them depending on the situation, rightly said she has worked for all she has but what moral value is she teaching right now that can really help the up coming generation ask that question,as i said in a some years she will be forgotten all she did will not be remembered trust me many have come before her and there are many more to come,as Deolu said and i quote: NB: Please note quickly though, that those were the most decent pictures of Beyonceโ€™ that I could find online, some of the others?โ€ฆ see what our girls wear these days due to that, is that what we want to teach our upcoming generation?

nothing comes easy we agree as we have to work for all we want, but how you manage it and make it last so as for it to be a legacy after you are gone i think should be the case.

i believe, if i have my way there’s a lot to learn from the two people.
i will wish to listen to Bill gates talk about his life so far and his philosophy of life top as well (do you know how much that guy donates to charity?) where are our millionaires in Nigeria, (i care less about how they get the money, we are already used to it, it’s no longer crime, “we” celebrate them) how do they spend it, if you hear one doing one charitable thing, before you know it, it was for a political ambition). i believe there’s a lot to learn from that man that has refused to be second richest for years now.
Beyonce is earning from her hard work, like an earlier comment, a lot of sleepless nights, rehearsals etc and i’m sure dissapointments too has been recorded. so let’s not look only at her dressing, in showbiz, it can be called “style”, or “Identity”, at least she’s got someting to flaunt.

Hmmm…Osadebe, If Bill Gates is unavailable. I consider that out of the box thinking ๐Ÿ™‚ Interesting perspectives too…there is something to learn from everything isn’t there :)?

But seriously, do you know how many more people listen to Beyonce’s music, watch beyonce’s videos and have never read any book on Billgates, nor know how to use his products?

I think many people are already spending the evenning with their silent choices ๐Ÿ™‚ Or what do you think?

i think ill rather have beyonce. a lot has been said and written bout bill gates to the extent that i could probably know somethings about his life that he doesnt even remember.

on the other hand, not much has been written of beyonce, and she also has a humble begining, so i probably would learn more from her than from Bill gates(that i cant already know)

this is responding close to 2 weeks after posting well this is my point,
both mr gates and miss beyonce are success stories in their choosen endeavours and are icons of sucess.
i will spend time with any one of the two depending on what i want for the evenning.
if it is the beginning of an holiday then it’s Beyonce and if it’s the evenning after a most frustrating day and i feel like changing jobs then…he knows all those who matters.

I’m sorry its coming this late but couldn’t help not responding to this. I have always learnt in life that you will always learn at least one success tip from any successful being you meet on earth. An evening with either Bill or Beyonce would definately add value to me though in diverse forms. The main thing is to be at the top and obviously both parties are significantly on top, though via different routes.

    Imagine this!

How about a table for two. Bill Gates and I. On top of that 7 star hotel in Dubai. The room overlooks the expanse of land peculiar to the middle east. Cool, serene atmosphere.

And there is Beyonce, in a part of the room doing what she knows how to do best. Not as a distraction, but using the softness of her voice to add beauty to my conversation with Bill.

Should she be unwilling, we can continue the meeting without her anyway.

All – I quite agree that there is value in listening to both. I’m sure there are some things we can learn from anybody, even Osama Bin Laden.

I think our choices might also reflect our preferences and value system. Or at least what we are consistently bombarded with.

But pause and think about this. Imagine I came here and posted an article with either of these titles, which will you read first?

Beyonce would be my preferred choice for the following reasons:-

-Being a woman, i can relate with her

-She is a success story in her own right, and the ingredients for success are the same no matter what field or choice of career you pursue

    – She is a role model to women – i have never seen beyonce act irresponsibly in public- she has a lot of self respect

Beyonce always strive to improve herself with every album/movie she does – She is one artist i know that puts in a 150% in her performances and she now has a fashion line!

    – She now has almost every accolades that is achievable in the world of entertainment and beyond

Ofcourse i would love the opportunity to spend time with Bill Gates, but Beyonce is a GREAT Achiever in her own right.

i know Deolu very well, i knew what informed this question was the attitude of our people when both visited Nigeria recently.

As usual, everyone went after Beyonce( including Big names in nigeria). This is a reflection of our thinking pattern.

We knew the security that attended to both, but one wonder why very few considered the foolishness of pleasure over long term prosperity.

Softly, i told myself(dont be too hard). For me i will pay every dime for now to meet Bill Gates. May be, pleasure will come later.

I must remind us that beyonce worked hard to get to where she is. Many of us think that its easy to sing, act or perform in front of huge crowds but i can assure its not. There are certain values one can learn from her. all in all, i think i would LOVE to spend a night with ‘bootylicious’ beyonce (Jay Z permitting). Bill & I can hook up online and yarn.

    hi all,
I’ll say my choice will depend on my mood or is it interest.you might find out Mr gate is less than the picture /conception you have of him and might not make your day.

there are several source of inspiration and similar stories and principle like that of bill gate which have practised all day at work so after a day of hard work ,I’ll like to relax with the lady and be entertained.

I’ld rather take a night out with Beyonce. Reasons? One, she’s a woman, two, because I believe there’s a lot she can gain from me. Reason one – the natural fminine sentiment draws me more naturally to her thoug I agree that the male-female appeal should draw me more to Bill. Reason two – there are a number of things Beyonce still needs to know about being successful and not selling her body with her music. I don’t boast of being able to ‘change’ her view and/or outlook but I believe we can both discuss why she does what she does and why she should be a real decent model for younger girls to look up to.

Well Gates and Beyonce are both stars in their respective fields, you can spend a whole day on your system using microsofts’ product while playing at the background some music by Beyonce.

Spending a minute with Gates enatails gaining some knowledge of how to make money or how to code, but a min with beyonce may not only make you spend but will make you loose some memories.

It all depends on the value system of individauls, I’ll rather choose Gates.

The tricks behind Microsoft? Never! He wont teach me, otherwise I’d be his competitor. With the bootylicious Beyonce, it’d be a lifetime experience, moreso, when it’s a whole night :)) What about you?

This an interesting blog for interested people. An evening spent with either of the two will no doubt have a great impact in my life. At least I must be inspired by the success story of both bcos there’re all great achievers in their own chosen fields. However, for my kind of person I would rather prefer to spend the time with Bill in lieu of Beyonce. Bill is a roll model to many rising entrepreneurs out there like my humble self. Kudos to the internet whizkid! Beyonce will be a better option to those into entertainment & showbiz.

I understand that Bill is a very detailed and technical person which makes it quite difficult for a good number of average persons to get along with him or better still, for him to get along with majority of persons. Bill Gates was able to lock into a rising tidal wave in the early eighties and could see what a lot of his contemporaries could not. He was able to innovate by improving on existing innovations. Cool, very cool but do you think Gates built the empire we know all by himself? No, there was a second person who is less known but is a billonaire in his own right as well. All said and done, Bill should be a great story, he is actually. On the other hand, Beyonce Knowles, is another very detailed person who plys her trade via the entertainment world. I might not have appreciated this very important aspect of our being until i watched an episode of Nokia 1st Chance, a talent hunt show. Now, Yinka Davies was very unforgiving of young perosns who exhibited raw talent. they obviously all had somthing to give, but guess what, a lot of them came unprepared. The bottomline, u need to be prepared to take your world by storm! Bill was at the time he developed the OS386 for IBM so was Beyonce when she went solo from the Destiny’s Child, the only female group album to have grossed 50 million in album copeis in history. now, that’s no mean feat.
My word of advice, it takes hardwork to make it to the top, whether with Bill or Beyonce, take a closer look, they exhibit similar traits, and would always better themselves, so can we look at their positives instead?
My people, i rest my case.

Neither of them, to be honest. What with the bugs aplenty coming out from Microsoft packages, I’d rather have a chat with Steve Jobs and chat about the beauty that is Apple Mac!

As regards Beyonce, her people (PR Lackeys!!) are a nightmare for us photographers, and I can’t be asked to deal with my time with people like her!!

However, if push came to shove, I’d rather choose Bill over Beyonce. (The missus would fustigate me otherwise!!)

Bill of course. Though they are two significant figure but Bill shouldn’t be compared to Beyonce, not at any standard. An evening with Beyonce might end up wasting ur time cos she will only be talking about music labels and her plans bla bla bla, an evening with Bill will be more intellectual, more valuable and profitable, its like going for a free MBA without having to pay a dime for it. I cant get that from beyonce, if i want to be a singer all i need to do is have money to pay record companies, i dont need to start by rubbing minds with a fellow singer. If u want to be a Big Enteprenuer, u definitely need to rub minds with those that have walked the path, remember GREAT minds think alike.

Beyonce has carved a niche for herself but sir, i will lov to spend an evening with Bill Gates. that man will forevergo down the memory of historians as one of the greatest that has ever lived. if it is songs, many people have sang even far better than the diva but Bill Gates? NO. He has so many qualities i will love to emilate from.

    1. he dropped out of school to start up a company.a big risk he took. not many people will take risks like he did.2. he remained the world’s richest man for more than 5yeras. he was very consistent in success. he want rich today and poor tommorrow like other. it means he knew what he was doing and it was generating for him funds.3 he is one of the best givers of all time. he donates yearly several billion of dollars tgo africa and other other less priviledged continents. that
sir, are my reasons for wanting to spend an evening with him.

On a 1st look at the question I thought Bill Gates of course, however reading through everyone’s comment, I seem to have gathered much more info about Beyonce than I knew. Here is something this post has taught me, the more information you gather, the better the decisions you make. No wonder we pray to God for guidance because He has all the info and He can make the best decision on our behalf!! However because I am in the same profession that got Bill to his current status, I would rather spend time with him than Beyonce. However I will not think less of anyone who chooses Beyonce instead……so long as the intention is godly….lol…..cos i think i heard someone use the word bootylicious…lol

Hey, yeah as i said, Mr. Bill Gates, if you’re there READ THIS!

I would delightfully spend an evening with Bill Gates (OBVIOUS). Why over Beyonce because i don’t like the job she does…revealing clothes and stuff like that…celebrity world is something i don’t like, people just change and use vulgarities…but i really dont know much about Beyonce other than her If i were a boy song.

I want to know what motivated Bill Gates to work so hard, to create microsoft and MAINTAIN it. I mean, he did have money already. He didn’t need to bother, but. He went to Havord.

Im just stressing out with studies and i just wanted to know his motivation, unlike him, i am so not in love with sciences, but if it’s a puzzle, i would want to do it.

I wish i could spend a day with Bill Gates, playing chess, and i heard he has gut feelings, wonder what gut feeling he will have about me?

    Wondering =)
