Starting The Journey To Becoming An Agent Of Change

All change starts from recognizing where solving the problem is your responsibility. We will never be able to do anything about what we do not own first as our fault. We can only be change agents in things we have enough big picture in to see ourselves as part of the problem and solutions.

It’s always frustrating for me to listen to people go on and on about how Nigeria is not working. I keep asking, what do you intend to do about it? Who is responsible? We can’t keep blaming the colonial masters, we can also say it’s the ruling class. The truth is, until we own the problems and zone them into our circle of influence, we are simply complainers. Unfortunately, there is no monument dedicated to complainers.

To be a change agent, we must first recognize that we have a part to play in all that concerns us. No matter how disempowered we feel we are, we can come up with a plan that, in time, makes us responsible. We can always start from our small spaces and grow gradually.

Think about the things you can do, think about what happens when they scale. Give it time and say to me – “If it is to be, it is up to me”.

There was once a young man named Ayo who had grown tired of complaining about the state of his country, Nigeria. He had heard enough people talk about the problems, but no one seemed to be doing anything about it. Ayo knew he couldn’t sit around and wait for someone else to fix things. He wanted to be a part of the solution.

Ayo decided to take ownership of the problems he saw in his community. He started small by picking up litter on the streets and talking to his neighbors about the importance of keeping their environment clean. As he continued to take action, he realized that he could make a bigger impact by organizing volunteer events and partnering with local organizations.

Ayo’s passion for change grew stronger with each small victory. He knew that he had a responsibility to his community and country to make a difference. He began to see himself as an agent of change, someone who could inspire others to take action and make a difference.

Ayo’s journey was not easy, but he remained committed to his vision. He knew that change would not happen overnight, but he believed that every small action could lead to something bigger. Ayo’s story is a reminder that we all have a part to play in creating a better world. We must take ownership of the problems we see and be willing to take action, no matter how small. If we all do our part, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.

Kind Regards,
