My dear friends, have you heard the tale of the goose that lays the golden eggs? It is a story that has been passed down for generations and holds a valuable lesson for all of us.
In this fable, a farmer discovers a goose that lays eggs made of pure gold. Overjoyed at his good fortune, he begins to collect the eggs each day and sell them for a handsome profit. But in his eagerness to get rich quickly, he grows impatient and kills the goose, hoping to find all of the golden eggs at once. Alas, he finds nothing but disappointment and regret.
But what does this story mean for us? My dear friends, the goose represents the skills, knowledge, relationships, and assets that we possess, which have the potential to produce great value for us. These are our geese, and we must nourish and develop them if we hope to reap the rewards.
Think about your own geese, my friends. What skills do you possess that could be honed and refined? What passions do you have that could lead to productive endeavors? What valuable education have you received that could be put to good use? And who are the friends, mentors, colleagues, and proteges in your life who could help you achieve your goals?
Remember, my friends, our geese are the places where we have the capacity to produce tremendous value. But we must be careful not to put too much demand on them, lest we kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. So let us nourish our geese and cultivate the value they have the potential to bring forth.
Kind Regards,
Adeolu Akinyemi.
