Today is one of those rare occurrences of the first day of the week, the first day of the month and the first day of the year. When you say a year is new, I’m not sure it gets newer than this. This is a very new year.
Like all things really new, when we first get it, we want to use it with care, rock it with pride, and gradually allow it to get into the used mode. In fact, we want to keep the nylon on that phone while using it, just so the newness lasts a little longer. We rock it cautiously, and it’s too early to spoil something that I brand new. 😝
Well, don’t treat your year like that, it’s a new year, but we need to rock it! Rock it without fear that you will spoil it, and take maximum utility of the new year’s opportunity. The year is not a depreciating asset; it’s an appreciating asset. The more you use it, the more valuable it becomes, so fear not, rock it! Yes, you heard that correctly, your year is not better if untouched. It’s awesome when it is appropriately used.
How do I rock this new year?
1. Gratitude – Count your blessings; name them one by one. Do it deliberately. We don’t need any intentionality to remember the bad things that happened to us, and we have the accuser of brethren for that one. The devil makes sure we don’t forget how we messed up. To remember how you were helped and how you did well, you need to be intentional.
2. Generosity – There is only one limit we have in this world, the one we set. The most important gift we can receive in this world is forgiveness, and it’s limited by how forgiving of others we are. If you get this concept well, you will realise that the only thing standing in the way of your harvest is your own seed. Our seeds, in any form, set the limits for our harvests. Make up your mind to give a lot away. It sets a lot in your direction.
These two attitudes are, in themselves, seeds that can be cultivated by daily practice.
So, rip the rubber off in the year 2023 and do it with these two G-Forces.
Happy New Year
