Hello Friends and Compatriots,

A lot has been going on, and I’ve personally been waiting for a time when there can indeed be a call to action to alert and inform you. Please do not doubt for one second that the issue of our nation is a matter of life and death. It is! Do not assume as well, that we can do this halfheartedly, we can’t!

All we can achieve as mere citizens with any form of other power in this country is little, limited and inconsequential compared to what a man in political power can achieve. Our greatest achievement in this nation hence is to seize political power! I’ve got exciting news for you, we can, we must and we will!

I am not being optimistic, I’m as practical as it gets. We have the ability to mobilize a mass movement in this nation that has the capacity to place real leaders in position. We are better than this, and we are jointly responsible for our current state. We are aware that by negligence we have sinned. Our doing less than our capacity has made us guilty of involvement in the death of all those who perish on our roads, die in our hospitals and are sent to early graves by our non functioning systems. We are in a terrible state, and I also share in the fears that if we allow things to go on this way, we will not exist as a nation in any guise in the next 20yrs. However, I have seen the glory of the New Nigeria! I have seen the land bounded by prosperity, inhabited by talent and flourishing with natural endowments. My eyes have seen the future! The future crafted by the hands of the youth that knows the truth! A nation led by leaders whom the great God can guide.

Our eyes can see, and our hands never touch, if we restrain ourselves to empty words that are not backed by due action. we must make movement, we must take action. It is on this premise that we have come to an all important junction in the history of our nation. The day called today, where you and I must mark our names on the indelible stones of time as having taken action. The action is simple, but it forms the trigger of all our future actions. We have gotten to that one part, upon which everything else in history refers – The registration of our political party and platform. The birth of The Party (more details later)!

We have less than 2 weeks to get this party registered. We would ideally need N30million to get this done, but we have gotten a few concessions that makes this possible for N10million. We do not want to burden a few, we want to involve many. As I write this, we are yet to get candidates for many of the offices, but we have found a few credible leaders, that we know we can back! Call it an experiment at least, if you are pessimistic, but mark my words – History will be made!

This is a call to you and a call to your friends. This is an opportunity to back our commitment with action! We need to pull funds together to first get the party registered. We have two weeks, as the last batch of parties will be announced in November.

I have had enough of Empty Oct 1 events. I have spoken on October 1’s for as long as I can remember, if any of you are speaking there, please raise funds for this cause. Let’s pull funds together. All payments can be made into New Naija Club account in GTBank 223865965 110, and a mail sent to party@newnigeriaclub.net to indicate how much you paid and your teller number. We intend to appoint an auditor for this and account for every penny. For all who are around Lagos, we will hold a meeting on Sunday the 4th of October, to do a round table and fund raising session. The venue will be communicated shortly.

Here are the items we need to cover for

1. Workshop to produce Manifesto and constitution – N250,000

2. Printing of Constitution and Manifesto – N100,000

3. Rent of Party HQ in Abuja – N10m (volunteered)

4. Furnishing of Party Secretariat – N5M (partially volunteered)

5. 1 party Vehicle – N3.5M/Lease (Given)

6. Conference for Mobilization of Activists/Leaders – N5m (optional)

7. Official Reg – N100,000

8. PR – N2m

9. Miscellaneous – N1m

We are appointing an auditor to monitor the entire process of collection and execution, we’ll also maintain a public forum where we’ll publish the names and amounts contributed by all who contribute. Volounteers are also welcome.

We can make this happen. All off us! Please let’s hear from you.  We can have 200 people willing to contribute N50,000 each or 2,000 people that can put N5,000 together each we can make a lot happen.  We can then also have a team of people who are willing to commit monthly payments to drive the movement. We do not need to burden anybody with heavy tarrifs.

Let me end with this …

“ the man who really counts in the world is the doer, the man who actually does the work, even if imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done.”

The TIME to ACT is NOW! Be a STAKEHOLDER and not a spectator. We will do this for sure, hopefully with you. Thank you so much.

Kind Regards

Adeolu Akinyemi

Yes we can. There is nothing impossible. We can’t sit at our offices and complain of bad leadership without taking necessar action. This is our chance. What I see however that can make people think twice is financial freedom. This is the weapon that the highly placed have been using against the “masses” and down troden. I imagine a situation where I can have about 10 people in my team in Holidays and Cash. It will indeed go a long way in supporting this course.

sir, me too i am tired of the usual Oct 1 talks and many events that will be coming up. it is time to start taking calculated stepsand action. because if we don not do anything, things will continue on the downward trend that it is. we will do our best because we cant afford to go on like this. Naija will survive.

Let's spread this far and wide and let the money's start dropping in, we have started already. We'll put a portal up shortly to begin to publicize how much has been received and from whom. Our friends in Diaspora can join in too.. we will appoint a paypal account soon.

While critics and skeptics are ranting, we can make a way forward. If we fail we fail, but at least we try.

One, the task of remaking Nigeria is a battle for the soul of our dearly beloved country from the hands of the ‘network of international & national cabal’, it is a battle for the future of our children, it is a battle for our dignity as a people; in this battle, if we must WIN and WIN must we, conscience must prevail over ego.
Two, instead of spending such amount of money to register another political party, why not we move en masse into the National Conscience Party (NCP) and then utilize that fund for mobilization & organizing, I mean Community Organizing (CO).
Please let’s give it a thought.

These are the reasons why not

      1. The people who formed the party and who chair it, have the ability to determine who gets the ticket on the long run. There have been many cases where the political party executives have been paid hundreds of millions overnight to remove "controversial" aspirants. We can't offer ourselves so cheaply. A platform is needed and it must be OUR platform.

      2. In my few weeks of walking with and interacting with this paradigm called politics, I have discovered that things are not as easy as they seem. The first battle is having a place we can use without bias. Even if at the end of the day we run on any other platform, we must have a fall back position, cause if credible people don't get tickets from a platform, they cannot run.

      3. 10million Naira is grossly inadequate to run any mobilization, PDP is raising close to 5Billion per state! We already however have allies who are going to cough out all the billions we will need when the time is ripe. To qualify for that however, we must get a place to stand.

I am not interested in any political position in 2011. I'm not even sure of 2015, so this is certainly not even about what I want to do or cannot do. I think we have spoken the language of change, and we must move to it's beat.

      I hope this clarifies.

    Hello All,
I'm sorry for what I'm about to say. But I don't think the formation of a new party of honest change seekers will actually change Nigeria. I know FRESH party ad good intentions. In Nigeria good intentions are far from enough.

In my honest opinion I think Nigeria is too young for a Democracy. We need a benovolent Dictator. Someone to re-lay the foundation. The foundation is bad and except it is re built, even the righteous can't do nothing. ONLY a revolution will do. Big Heads must roll. A dictator is coming but not to loot. After him, real democracy will be born.
    Thanks

Let's assume you are right…. how does he get access to Position? By prayer? How does the movement for head rolling start? A military takeover? I love intelligent extreme views, let's just try to ensure we can work from the solution to the real process of answers.

This is not about intentions, it's about working towards the answers. Nigeria must change, and can good people win? Is there a possibility? Can anything happen in this world to make it remotely possible? If the answer is yes, no matter how week, I saw we seek it.

I have no doubt in my heart of hearts that the most responsible and righteous approach to take in delivering this nation is to out-organize the manifold forces of reproach and elevate the banner of righteousness. Let's give ourselves a chance to nurture this nation. The destiny of a nation is in the hands of its government. And governance requires political influence. We must not fail to try because we are afraid we might fail. Gani tried his bits, let's beat his bits! Let's nurture the seeds sown by our heroes past. More must be done than said if we are wish to die in peace. And now is the time to make necessary sacrifices, cos we'll all be dead soon. We must have a sense of urgency about this.

Thanks for the call to action. Talking is cheap. Action is not. For we to make this a reality, then action must become cheap to us. And like u rightly said “…“ the man who really counts in the world is the doer, the man who actually does the work, even if imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done.” Now i’m not talking, i’m acting my believe in a New Nigeria even in the midst of gloominess (economy, sports, power, food, education, health care, basic amenities, transportation, human resources etc)

You know, when I first read this post, I didn’t want to say anything. Not that I didn’t believe in what Chairman and a lot of other people were advocating but actually b’cos I felt Politics isn’t for everyone and I wasn’t ready to dabble into what I know nothing about. But then, after what happened on Thursday, the 1st of October (can’t relay my whole thoughts on this blog but u can read it at http://www.moneyandinvestmentideas.blogspot.com), I made a resolute decision to come back to this blog to give my support.

Fellow Nigerians, indeed, it is high time we made this radical move. There must be an absolute turn around. It is true that we the Good-willed people with genuine concern for the growth of our dear nation and bringing our people out of obscurity cannot continue to fold our arms and just lament while those who don’t have good intentions and are undeserving of it mount the throne, for, then, we would have to accept anything they throw at us.

2011, here we come. CHANGE… We can, we must, we will.

    Count me in!
