Rewriting the History of Nigeria
In what can be classified as one of the most successful events in the history of Nigerian events, the New Naija club (popularly known as New Nigeria Club) was launched in a sea of green white green in one of the roomiest halls in Lagos, filled to capacity. The event kicked off at 3:00pm New Nigeria time, and history was written as each speaker got up to speak about their belief in a New Nigeria and their excitement about the New Nigeria Club concept.
The event was chaired by the much respected Prof. Pat Utomi, and the list of speakers included, Fela Durotoye, Gbenga Sesan, Frank Mba (Police PRO), Niyi Adesanya, Myself (Adeolu Akinyemi) and some others. The program was also well packed with entertainment from Sound Sultan, Trusaintz, Ari, Simi and Sam Clef.
The event also did not lack dignitaries, who came to represent different arms of the government, the chairman of the Lagos state house of representatives, judiciary council, The Founder and Administrator of the Little Saints orphanage, representatives from the ministry of tourism Lagos, representative from Education, EFCC, NPF e.t.c. The Media were also very visible, from AIT, NTA, Silverbird and a number of print media.
The only reward for hard work, Prof told me, is more work. It was hard work, I really felt pleased with all the organizers of the event, cause it all came out pretty well. We all already know though, that this only prepares us for more work as we must continue to live up to our declarations.
New Naija Club is Launched now, and real marketing work begins. Our mandate is 1 million members by December 31,2008. With enough done in 5 weeks almost equivalent to some other organizations one year work, we are set for the future. New Naija Club is here to stay, and only a special set of people with not fully developed brains will dare to understand the concept and not buy into it. Sincerely though, I am yet to come into contact with anybody who doesn’t wish to join the NNC.
Let’s join hands together to create the Nigeria of our dreams, a sustainable system that will make our children proud of the Nigeria they will grow up to live in. From here on, it’s almost auto cruise.
Thanks again to the over 2000 people that left their families to start off New Nigeria Club with us, I can never thank you enough. I only admonish you, that it is in your hands to create your level of involvement in the history of Nigeria that is being reenacted.

What a great event! History will definitely record and recall this! I was eager to be at the meeting yesterday and see this REALITY unfold and true to my expectation, or should i say more than my expectation, people were seated in in good number by 3.00PM when the programme kicked off. African time mentality was K-I-L-L-E-D, D-E-A-D and B-U-R-I-E-D!
This is part of the nigeria of my dream and i am happy this was in full demonstration.

I was dazed when I came out of the hall some minutes after four and saw the hall filled to the brim. It was real hard work and proper planning. It was fantastic.
I’ m emphatically asking that same question that was raised on Tuesday by one of the speakers… “Where do you stand? Are you strategically preparing yourself ahead of opportunities or you are watching when others make things happen. The choice is yours.
I will ensure I attend all NNC meetings this year 2008. That is part of my New Year resolution. I don’t want to see things happen, I want to be a partaker in the actualization of the emerging New Nigeria of our dreams.

I realized better at the launching venue that New Naija was born out of passions by Nigerians, by the voice of people who are clamouring for a change and not just ordinary change but real freedom. It was true we got independence, yet we are still learning to walk, we never got the true freedom.
The crowd alone that filled the hall to the brim who left the comfort of their home alongside the important dignitaries who spoke during the launching shows that we still have some passionate Nigerians who believed we Nigerians “can” and “will” build the Nigeria of our dreams. Even the fact that Nigerian in exile are running back home to have their own share of the National Cake is a reflection of a better Nigeria to come. It connotes we can only run we can not hide; “Ajo O da bi Ile o”.
I admonished us all, to be persistent with the struggle to push the dream forward the more, until we have a New Naija of our own, that is the envy of the world not just Africa.

I got to the event quite late, and I felt like kicking myself in the butts for missing Pat Utomi’s speech. I got there while Fela Durotoye was speaking. But all the same, it was definitely worth the while. The whole thing was perfectly planned and organized. Even Sound Sultan attested to that. I was so surprised to see the crowd at the hall when I got there, and was even more shocked when I looked back from where I was sitting, about an hour later to see the whole back filled, and even saw some standing. Those of you that were not there definitely missed a lot. I feel so proud to be a part of history. Up NNC!

I’m trying to understand this concept of new nigeria club. I’m really doing this with an open mind.
Unfortunately all i can see is a replicate of what has been happening in Nigeria in recent past.
Beyond all the razzmatazz, funfair, and all the good intentions.
All I see is a group of One million people donating money to someone over and over again.
Playing on the ignorance of people that are trying to get rich at all cost.
These are the same people that were involved in nospecto, sefteg, wealth solution, diamond something, getaway, club freedom.
Everybody scrambling for people to register under them.
Please forgive me if I’m wrong, I’m just rambling. Had to let my feelings out.

I think we are not carrying along our children!
This is not only for those who have grown ups.Unmarried members must also start cultivating or is recruiting their neices and nephews.Let u sensitize and notify them of the emerging and newly evolving Nigeria.
I am already recruiting my children.I talk to them everyday about the New Nigeria we all look forward to.
We should let the feeling of new Nigeria be in the air like fever- pitch feeling during the world cup tournament.
Let us beat the drum,sound the gong and blow the whistle of new Nigeria so that none will say he didn’t hear any of the sounds.

A public forum is not often recommended as the place to ramble and showcase ones ignorance, lest people rate one as shallow.
What you would have done is send an email to someone or call the number on the site, nobody is too big to explain things to you.
I don’t even know where to start to explain things to you from, as things have gone far, and I fear that except you are willing to dig out the past and read, you might not need to bother.
Know these for certain though, there is no getting rich quick in the New Nigeria Club, what we have designed is what only a special set of people will appreciate quickly. The others will come along later when they understand. I told one of my friends about the New Nigeria club again yesterday for the third time, and he was blaming and accusing me for not telling him about it very well from the start. What can I say?
The New Nigerian Club is about the big picture. Do not allow your past negative experience deny you of exploiting the opportunity of a life time. this is a sustainable project
